DIY Inground Trampoline Installation Guide
Installing an inground trampoline yourself is completely doable — most customers finish in a weekend. Our kits are designed for DIY, and we are here if you have questions along the way.
Tools & Materials
Your kit includes everything needed for the trampoline itself. For the hole, you will need either a rented excavator or to hire a local excavating contractor.
- Excavating equipment — rented mini-excavator or local contractor
- Basic hand tools — wrenches, rubber mallet, tape measure
- Level — to ensure the frame sits flush with the yard
- Two or more helpers — for frame assembly and mat installation
- Gravel (optional) — for drainage layer at bottom of hole
Step-by-Step Installation
Follow these steps for a solid, long-lasting installation.
Mark Out Your Hole
Use the dimensions from your kit guide to mark the exact footprint. Account for the retaining wall thickness on all sides.
Excavate
Dig 30–36 inches deep depending on your model. Keep walls as vertical as possible. Remove all loose material.
Add a Drainage Layer
Place 4–6 inches of compacted gravel at the base of the hole to allow water to drain away from the bottom of the frame.
Install the Retaining Wall
Follow the retaining wall guide included in your kit. This is the most critical structural step — take your time and check level frequently.
Set the Frame
Lower the frame into the retaining wall system. Check that it sits flush with the surrounding grade — adjust as needed.
Attach the Springs and Mat
Work around the frame in a cross-pattern (not sequential) to ensure even tension. Attach the vented safety pad last.
Backfill and Finish
Fill any gaps between the retaining wall and hole walls with compacted soil. Grade the surrounding area so it drains away from the trampoline.
